In
spite of it's loud cries of 'Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite', France was
slow in giving voting rights to women. French women got this right only
in 1946.
But now France has, in a way, made up for that tardiness. It has enshrined abortion as a constitutional right (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-68471568) - being the first country in the world to do so.
Bravo France.
