How Cultural Institutions Create Public Spaces Saturday, 1st September, 2018

The Institut Français in India and Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan bring you this open discussion on how cultural institutions create public space. On Saturday, 1st September, as from 6.30 pm, the Artistic Director for the Parc and the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris, Frédéric Mazelly, will present his work in a public conference. The presentation will be followed by a discussion with Smriti Rajgarhia, Director of Serendipity Arts Festival and moderated by the journalist Aman Sethi. French President Emmanuel Macron has announced he will make returning African art stolen during the colonial era a top priority in his administration, raising questions as to whether other European nations will follow suit. This as African countries endeavor to retrieve these lost treasures from their cultural history.
